Comparing GRACE-FO KBR and LRI Ranging Data with Focus on Carrier Frequency Variations
نویسندگان
چکیده
The GRACE Follow-On satellite mission measures distance variations between its two satellites in order to derive monthly gravity field maps, indicating mass variability on Earth a scale of few 100 km originating from hydrology, seismology, climatology and other sources. This hosts ranging instruments, conventional microwave system based K(a)-band (KBR) novel laser instrument (LRI), both relying interferometric phase readout. In this paper, we show how the measurements can be converted into range data using time-dependent carrier frequency (or wavelength) that takes account potential intraday or frequency. Moreover, analyze KBR-LRI residuals discuss which error noise contributors limit at high low Fourier frequencies. It turns out agreement KBR LRI biased observations slightly improved by considering processing. Although effect is probably small enough have little relevance for determination current precision level, analysis detailed characterization potentially future more precise missions.

A circular grating is photographed through a phase object which deforms the image of the grating lines. By superimposing these deformed lines with a master grating on photographic film, mpire'' patterns are observed. These patterns are interpreted as fringes of constant radial derivative. https://ntrs.nasa.gov/search.jsp?R=19730011754 2017-09-12T18:22:28+00:00Z

For more than three years, the GRACE pair of satellites have been orbiting the Earth, monitoring the time variable mass distribution for scales ranging from regional to global. The GRACE data have been released for a broad scientific community and sets of gravity fields are available. متن کاملIntersatellite laser ranging instrument for the GRACE follow-on mission
The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) has demonstrated that low–low satellite-tosatellite tracking enables monitoring the time variations of the Earth’s gravity field on a global scale, in particular those caused by mass-transport within the hydrosphere. Due to the importance of long-term continued monitoring of the variations of the Earth’s gravitational field and the limited lif...

متن کاملGrounding FO and FO(ID) with Bounds
Grounding is the task of reducing a first-order theory and finite domain to an equivalent propositional theory. It is used as preprocessing phase in many logic-based reasoning systems. Such systems provide a rich first-order input language to a user and can rely on efficient propositional solvers to perform the actual reasoning. Besides a first-order theory and finite domain, the input for grou...
